Traditional Services
VCB offers short-term residential programs for people of all ages who are Blind and/or Visually Impaired, their families, and caregivers. Programs are offered year round through weekend and summer programs.
Accelerate Your Future & Become Work Ready!
The Vocational Rehabilitation Center offers an enriched 15-week residential experience that includes:
individualized vocational training
development of work-life independent skills &
collaboration through teamwork
To prepare young adults (18-21 years of age) who are legally blind for future employment.
Assistive Technology Training
Providing Assistive Technology and computer training to students and adults who are legally blind from Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Sullivan, Ulster, and Westchester Counties.

FROM N.Y.C - George Washington Bridge upper level (keep in extreme right lane) to Palisades Interstate Pkwy for approximately 25 miles, to exit 11. Exit Parkway. Turn left at the traffic light onto New Hempstead Road. Continue 3 more traffic lights. Turn right at this intersection of New Hempstead and Hempstead Roads (County Route 51 North). This is Summit Park Road. At the fork, take left road. This leads directly to the VISIONS VCB gate.
FROM WESTCHESTER - Take the New York State Thruway (Westbound) across Tappan Zee Bridge—to exit 13N (marked: Palisades Interstate Parkway Northbound). Take the Palisades to exit 11. Exit Parkway. Turn left at the traffic light onto New Hempstead Road. Continue 3 more traffic lights. Turn right at this intersection of New Hempstead and Hempstead Roads (County Route 51 North). This is Summit Park Road. At the fork, take left road. This leads directly to the VISIONS VCB gate.
FROM NEW JERSEY - Garden State Parkway North to New York State Thruway towards New England & the Tappan Zee Bridge. Follow signs to exit 13N (marked Palisades Interstate Parkway North). Take the Palisades to exit 11. Exit Parkway. Turn left at the traffic light onto New Hempstead Road. Continue 3 more traffic lights. Turn right at this intersection of New Hempstead and Hempstead Roads (County Route 51 North). This is Summit Park Road. At the fork, take left road. This leads directly to the VISIONS VCB gate.
FROM UPSTATE NEW YORK - New York State Thruway (Exit 13N) to the Palisades Interstate Parkway North to exit 11. Exit Parkway. Turn left at the traffic light onto New Hempstead Road. Continue 3 more traffic lights. Turn right at this intersection of New Hempstead and Hempstead Roads (County Route 51 North). This is Summit Park Road. At the fork, take left road. This leads directly to the VISIONS VCB gate.
FROM BEAR MOUNTAIN BRIDGE - After coming off the bridge, pick up the Palisades Interstate Parkway South to Exit 12. Take Route 45 South. Turn right onto Pomona Road. Turn left onto Summit Park Road which will lead directly to the VISIONS VCB gate.
FOR COMMERCIAL VEHICLES - Take New York State Thruway (87) to exit 14 Spring Valley. The exit ramp leads to Rte 59. Go West on Rte 59 to Rte 45 Turn right onto Rte 45, Main St. Continue on Rte 45 through the center of Spring Valley. Turn left onto New Hempstead Rd. (3rd light after Hillcrest Plaza). Continue to first traffic light, turn right at the intersection of New Hempstead and Hempstead (County Route 51 North). This is Summit Park Road. At the fork, take left road. This leads directly to the VISIONS VCB gate.
